Mrs. Karen Meredith

Media Teacher

Mrs. Meredith was born in Louisville, KY. Family information: I have been married to Kevin for 16 years. We have three sons, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Luke. Education: I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from University of Louisville. Teaching experience: I taught 2nd grade for 1 year and Library for 1 year before becoming a stay at home mom. I also home schooled my boys for 4 years. Interests/hobbies: I enjoy reading, gardening, and taking care of our menagerie of animals. Favorite sport: I enjoy any sport my boys play. As a spectator, I like watching ice hockey. Favorite animals: I love them all, otherwise, we wouldn't have so many. Favorite color: It changes with the season; right now reds, oranges and yellows. Favorite childhood memory: Catching fire flies with my siblings and friends while my dad sang and played the guitar on summer evenings. Least favorite job: Emissions tester, especially in the winter. Favorite trip: Going to Hawaii with 10 family members to walk a marathon in memory of my brother for the Leukemia Society. What you like to do on a snow day: Playing in the snow and sledding with my family. Someone who is a positive influence: Both of my parents. Dad was always upbeat laughing and telling jokes, while Mom was our strength. They both taught me about faith, dedication, and a positive attitude. They also showed us the importance of giving to others. What you like best about teaching: Being surrounded by all the positive energy that kids have. Favorite Quote: "Let no one come to you without leaving better and happier." Mother Teresa
