Mrs. Teri Bishop Fourth Grade Teacher Mrs. Bishop was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been a teacher or worked in administration for 13 years. She has been teaching at St. Joseph School for two years. Family information: I am the youngest of a large family--two sisters and four brothers. My husband is the youngest of four children. We always say that it's GOOD to be the baby! Education: I attended Our Mother of Sorrows Elementary School, Assumption High School, and Spalding University. I'm attending Spalding now as I complete my Master's Degree. I'm proud to say that I'm a Catholic school graduate– elementary through college. Certification: My undergraduate degree in Elementary Education is from Spalding University, and I also have an Early Childhood Education Degree from Jefferson Community College. I am completing my Master's Degree with a focus on Reading and Writing--my favorite subjects. Catechetical Credentials: I am working towards my Associate Catechism Degree. Awards: I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spalding and I was the recipient of two Kentucky Teacher Scholarships and the PEIP Grant from the Archdiocese of Louisville. I also sincerely feel rewarded by my career as a teacher. Every day is a gift! Interests/hobbies: I love to read, travel, watch and talk about the Star Wars saga, and spend time with my sons and my husband. (Who love to do the same things!) Favorite sport: Without a doubt- Baseball!!! I also love swimming and running. Favorite animal: Dolphins, sharks, anything in the ocean, really! Favorite color: Green Favorite TV show: Big Bang Theory, Survivor, The Office, Deadliest Catch, baseball games. Favorite trip: St. George Island, Florida and Sebastian Inlet, Florida. Oh yeah, and New Orleans! What you like to do on a snow day: Stay in my pajamas as long as I want and make hot chocolate for the boys when they come inside from playing, of course. Favorite childhood memory: All of the times with my friends in my neighborhood. We all went to the same school and played outdoors and rode bikes after school and all summer long. We were like brothers and sisters. Facts about you: I love being part of the St. Joe family and I feel blessed to work with the students and staff here. What you like best about teaching: It's always challenging and NEVER boring. It's always changing and growing. I also love to learn, and I feel like I learn more than I teach! Someone who was a positive influence: There have been so many, but probably my husband, my sons, my parents and my in-laws, my siblings, my childhood teachers, my co-teachers and all of my students throughout the years.
