| SJS 6th Grade Academic Team Showcase Winners The St. Joseph School 6th Grade Academic Team won First Place in the Kentucky Colonel's 2010 6th grade Academic Team Showcase. The Quick Recall Team of James Blanford, Davis Downs, Hunter Downs, Isaac Edelen, Danny Manion, Nate Mattingly, Izzy Neel, Ashley Shofner, and Trey Stone went undefeated in four rounds. Danny Manion placed first in Science and Social Studies, Izzy Neel placed first in Written Composition, Davis Downs placed first in Language Arts and fifth in Math, Nate Mattingly placed second in both Social Studies and Arts & Humanities, and Kathryn Wimsett placed sixth in Written Composition. The SJS students defeated teams from Bardstown Middle School, Old Kentucky Home Middle School, Campbellsville Middle School, Bluegrass Christian Academy and Laure County Middle School to take first place. The Academic Team is coached by Mrs. Pam Zarantonello, fifth grade teacher.
