Jennifer Richards

Mrs. Jennifer Richards was born, raised, and lives in Louisville, KY. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Spalding University and Master’s degree in Education from Ball State University. Before coming to St. Joseph, Mrs. Richards worked as a third and fourth grade teacher at St. Athanasius School in Louisville. She is happily married to her husband, Pat, and they have one daughter, Madalyn, who attends St. Joseph School. Mrs. Richards says, “Family means the world to me and I am blessed to come from a great one. My brother is four years younger than I am and is married with one daughter. He is a firefighter for the city of Louisville. My mom works for Jefferson County Public Schools and is my best friend. She has the most compassionate heart of anyone I have ever met. My mom and stepdad have been married for many years and I have a beautiful sister, Hannah, who is a nursing student at Spalding University. I am so very fortunate to have my maternal great-grandparents still active in my life. They are amazing people and have been such a positive influence in my life. The furry ‘children’ in my life are my three cats: Milo, Nal, and Mia-Bella.”

Mrs. Richards’ favorite sports team is the University of Louisville. She enjoys reading, Pinterest, and cooking. On a snow day, Mrs. Richards likes to stay in her PJs all day and drink hot chocolate. Her favorite trip is Gatlinburg in the fall, and her favorite childhood memory is of spending summers on Green River. Mrs. Richards’ favorite thing about teaching is “those ah-ha! moments”. Her mom and grandparents are a positive influence in her life. Her favorite quote is: “All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt,” by Charles M. Schulz.
