Kara Lewis

Mrs. Lewis’ Class Website

Mrs. Kara Lewis was born in Lebanon, Kentucky. She has an Associates Degree from St. Catharine College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Campbellsville University and a Master of Arts in Education and a Rank 1, focusing on Language Arts from Eastern Kentucky University. She has a Kentucky Teaching Certificate in 5-12 Business and Marketing Education and 5-9 Language Arts. Mrs. Lewis was nominated for Ashland Teacher of the Year in 2006 and in 2013 she was named Teacher of the Year by the Kentucky Standard.   

Mrs. Lewis and her husband Terry currently live on a small farm in Springfield. They have one son, Ben, who attends St. Joseph School. Mrs. Lewis enjoys reading and spending time with her family. Her favorite childhood memory is when her mother brought home an Apple computer from school one summer to learn how to use it. “I thought it was the best thing in the world and played Jeopardy all summer long!”

Little known about Mrs. Lewis is that she has a ton of pet peeves, mostly about grammar! Her favorite part of teaching is getting to influence the next generation of leaders; helping to shape them into responsible, civic minded, community minded adults. Her favorite quote is “A pint of example is worth a barrelful of advice.” Derived from Philippians 3:17-“Be imitators of me, my brothers. Take as your guide those who follow the example we set.”
