Mrs. Karen Meredith was born in Louisville, Ky. She and her husband Kevin have three sons: Benjamin, Nicholas, and Luke. Mrs. Meredith has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Louisville. Mrs. Meredith’s teaching experience includes second grade, library and third grade. While she was a stay at home mother, Mrs. Meredith home schooled her children for four years.
Her interests include reading, gardening, and taking care of the family’s menagerie of animals. A favorite childhood memory is of catching fireflies with her siblings and friends while her dad sang and played the guitar on summer evenings. Her favorite memory is of going to Hawaii with ten family members to walk a marathon in memory of her brother for the Leukemia Society. Mrs. Meredith names her parents as having a positive influence on her life. “Dad was always upbeat laughing and telling jokes, while Mom was our strength. They both taught me about faith, dedication, and a positive attitude. They also showed us the importance of giving to others,” she said.
