Mrs. Katrina Ballard lives in Bardstown with her husband Pat and their two boys. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville and her master’s degree from Bellarmine University. Math and science are her favorite subjects to teach. Mrs. Ballard says, “My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the look on kids’ faces when they learn something new and they finally understand it, especially if at first they thought it was too hard and didn’t think they could do it. I love seeing their pride of accomplishment.”
Mrs. Ballard loves to scrapbook and take pictures. She also loves to travel and explore new places, especially the beach and tropical areas. Her favorite trip was going to Hawaii. She visited Maui and Oahu, and says she would love to go back there one day, maybe even to live part-time! On a snow day, Mrs. Ballard likes to read a book and play with her kids in the snow.
Describing her favorite childhood memory, Mrs. Ballard says, “My favorite memory as a child was when I spent a couple weeks driving on a road trip with my brother and grandparents one summer when I was in high school. We went out West and didn’t really have a set schedule. We had a few places we wanted to stop and just stopped at other places that looked interesting. I hope to do that with my kids one day.” Her favorite quote is: “Who says the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon?”
